Streptocarpus ‘3S-Fireflies At Dusk’

Streptocarpus ‘3S-Fireflies At Dusk’, 2016, IR161352, hybridized by Karen Matthews, VA (S. ‘Jules’ x S. ‘DS-Meteor Shower’). Cross made 09.09.2014, planted 12.01.2014, and first flowered 06.01.2015. Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette. Leaves green, 8-10 in. long, 3 in. wide, with 0.5-1 in. petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, serrate margin and acute tip. Calyx split, green, 1/8 in. long. Pedicel ½-¾ in. long with 5-7 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2.5 in. long, 3 in. wide. Palest pink upper lobes with cream lower lobes, covered entirely with dark violet-blue fantasy. Wine-colored streaks come from throat onto lower 3 lobes (appearing black in the fantasy). Broad leaves form a nice rosette. Slower to mature, but once established puts up an abundant display of dark fantasy flowers.
